Collection: Cheese

Cheese is a delectable dairy product produced by coagulating milk, producing solid curd and liquid whey. Its versatility and rich flavour have made it a staple food in many cultures worldwide. While the exact origin of cheesemaking remains uncertain, evidence suggests that its roots can be traced back to ancient civilizations, possibly coinciding with the domestication of milk-producing animals like sheep and goats around 8,000 BCE.

The earliest archaeological evidence of cheesemaking dates back to 5,500 BCE in Poland, where remnants of cheesemaking equipment were unearthed. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans also played a significant role in cheesemaking's development, with documented records and depictions of cheese production dating back to their respective eras.
