Château Qanafar represents the best of Château Qanafar’s terroir. A full-bodied wine aged for 12 months in french oak barrels. Complex and exuberant with notes of cassis and ripe black fruits married to velvety oak tannins. Good acidity to balance the fruitiness and a remarkable equilibrium between attack, mid-palate, and finish.
Chateau Qanafar 2015: 72% Syrah, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon
Note: The blend usually consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. The blend varies from year-to-year depending on what the owners believe will produce the highest quality wine possible. Not necessarily all 3 varietals are found, sometimes only 2 varietals are used (as in Chateau Qanafar 2015). The percentage of the varietals also varies from year to year.
MATURING: 100% of the wine is aged in 225L French oak barrels for 12 months
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Best served at 16-18°C after decanting for one hour
AGING: Ideal for immediate enjoyment and aging of at least 20+ years depending on storage conditions.
FOOD PAIRING: Pairs well with rich grilled meats and vegetables, braised beef, aged hard cheeses, chicken barbecued and glazed, duck, tuna and game meats.
